Henry Lao is the Chief Investment Officer of Your Total Solution (YTS), where he serves as the commercial leader responsible for building the firm’s investment platform and positioning the organization for its next stage of national growth. As CIO, Henry leads the firm’s investment organization and chairs the Investment Committee. He oversees investment philosophy, portfolio construction, manager research, trading, implementation, and investment operations.

He has a broad leadership mandate that extends beyond investments. Henry also oversees Client Experience, Advisor Experience, Brand Messaging, and Sales & Marketing, focused on elevating the capabilities that shape how YTS serves clients, empowers advisors, and scales the enterprise. He works across the organization to connect investment management, financial planning, advisor enablement, client experience, organic growth, and M&A into a unified platform that puts clients at the center of every decision.

Prior to joining YTS, Henry was at Mercer Advisors, where he held senior investment leadership positions and helped build and scale the investment platform during a period of significant growth. During his tenure, Mercer grew from $3 billion to more than $100 billion in assets under management.

Henry lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Abby, and their dog, Taro. He enjoys hiking, basketball and traveling to eat.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with a minor in Sports Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a CFA Charterholder and an active member of the CFA Society Colorado. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also taught Investment Management as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder, reflecting his commitment to developing future leaders.
